For the Heart: Each composition's rhythm conforms with a resting adult's heart beat, approximately 60 beats per minute, thus allowing the listener to easily and gently flow toward a calm and restful state.

From the Heart: Each of these beautiful melodies has helped to soothe and comfort my heart. May your soul be soothed and comforted as well when you listen to them.

"You played beautifully in my room while I was recovering from a brain hemorrhage/stroke. I am presently listening to the lovely CD you gave me, and I find it so enriching and calming. I just want to thank you again for your playing and for your generosity in gifting me the CD. I have recovered remarkably well and am back home. Blessings be yours," A former patient

Music of Compassion show

Barbara's intent is to play "Music of Compassion," when ever there is a need. This may be playing at the bedside of your loved one at a hospital or other healthcare facility; during a Memorial Service, Funeral or Celebration of Life for your loved one; or in any other stressful situation where you need a moment of peaceful, calming music.

Of all of the ways Barbara has played music in her career, playing "music of compassion" is the most rewarding and meaningful to her because of helping people in their moment of stress. Read an article from Children's Hospital.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

The Weiger Lepke-Sims Church Composition Award currently "resides" in the American Harp Society Foundation.

It was created to honor all of Barbara's family members who have loved and encouraged her musical pursuits. The purpose of the award is to help further the repertoire of the harp in traditional church settings whether it be for solo harp, choir and/or soloist and harp, or small chamber group featuring the harp.

The emphasis of a beautiful melody is important in the final composition. Please contact either Barbara or the Executive Secretary of the AHS for further information.

The Award is given when enough interest has accrued from the Principal amount.

The first award was given out in 2012 to John Kuzma for his version of "Holy, Holy, Holy," a study in modes.
